The core business hub of Accra's Kantamanto market has experienced extensive fire damage.
Tuesday morning's incident resulted in the destruction of numerous items and stores worth thousands of cedis.
At this time, it is unknown what started the fire that destroyed the stores beside the railway line at the Kantamanto market.
R More than 15 shops have been completely destroyed by the fire, an eyewitness by the name of Charles told a source.
He described how members of the Ghana National Fire Service ran out of water and were unable to put out the fire.
To try and put out the roaring fire, he later stated, more fire service units had arrived at the area.
There hasn't yet been a casualty reported.
